Meet Gayland

Throughout his 22-years as a career prosecutor, Gayland Gieger has repeatedly proven he will do what is right, regardless of politics.

A graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law, Gayland began working in the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s office in 1999. During his 22-year tenure, he has served 13 years as the lead prosecutor for the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Unit – fighting daily to deliver justice to this county’s most abused and neglected children.

Gayland has demonstrated no tolerance for those who have taken the lives of the most vulnerable and defenseless, as demonstrated by over 50 child murder convictions. Gayland is frequently sought out by national organizations to train law enforcement and other prosecutors on the investigation and prosecution of sexual assault and child abuse.

Gayland’s fight does not end there. Gayland has courageously prosecuted those who have broken the law, regardless of their position including politicians, attorneys, and judges. Gayland has tried over 100 cases to verdict and fought zealously for the citizens of Oklahoma County. From prosecuting gruesome homicides to armed robberies to sexual assault and child abuse cases, Gayland has shown he has the work ethic, determination, and trial skills to hold offenders accountable.

Gayland has seen the impact of violent crime on  our families and this community. While there is a place for mercy and rehabilitation, Gayland’s message is clear – violent crime will not be tolerated. Gayland shares our conservative values and will stand tall for law and order.

Gayland is a loving father, devoted husband, and a proud Oklahoman. Together Gayland and Shannon have four children and attend Life Church in Edmond.
